Words are not enough to share how magical Haystack in Maine truly is...every artist should experience a place like this at least once in their lives. The intensity of the place - the studios located a stones throw from the mighty ocean, the architecture and the residential buildings like tree houses nestled in the pines, the sounds of nature all creating a haven for artists to explore true creativity. There is a great freedom to explore new ideas and a wonderful community that nourishes us each day supporting our artisit visions. Glassblowers, wood workers, potters, painters and poets all joined together in creative harmony - working diligently, laughing heartily and sharing generously...a gem of a place.
A few photos to share.
The first photo is me inside the kiln as we get ready for our second salt firing - the first firing was amazing and I suspect the second will be even better. The kiln will be packed with the works of many hands, then fired to intense heats and the salt will be thrown to add the final bit of surprise to the finished pots - Can't Wait!!! Check back for the results...
The other image is the glorious view I was lucky enough to take in everyday.....aaaaaaaaaaahh.
